2017 Dodge Durango Details

Four of five trim levels return from last year. The current lineup is SXT, SXT Plus, GT, R/T, and 2017 Dodge Durango Citadel. There are two drive lines. Engine choices are a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 or a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8, both of which come paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also standard: plenty of passenger space, and a maximum 84.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

What's New for 2017

For all that stays the same on this new Dodge vehicle, there are a few changes from 2016 to 2017. The Limited trim is gone, replaced by a GT trim with leather seats. The base-level SXT trim now has its third row seating as an option. There's also a rearview camera (standard on all trims except SXT, where it's optional) that works with the 8.4-inch screen and Chrysler UConnect® to let you monitor a trailer if you're towing.

2017 Dodge Durango Special Features*

Those hoping for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay will have to wait another year. However, there's a customizable display on the UConnect infotainment system, and you can add a DVD player to occupy your kids or just add HD Radio and Beats Premium Audio.

In terms of other features, one reason to upgrade to the HEMI engine is the best-in-class 7,400 pounds of towing capacity it gives you (up from 6,200 pounds with the base engine). Upper trims can be optioned with ParkSense parking assist and a ParkView backup camera.
